PLAYER OF THE MONTH
JANUARY 2010
Helping his Villanova Knights win seven of the eight games he played in, David Jenkins outstanding January month made him the perfect choice for the OHA Bauer Player of the Month award.
Jenkins, a Ajax native is currently enjoying his first season with the Knights after playing two seasons with the Ajax Attack. This 6'0, 190 lbs goal tender has amazing reflexes and a natural ability to feel for the puck, the way all great goalies do. Jenkins was able to turn away 238 of the 259 shots he faced in January, including a shut out preformance on the 22nd against the Buffalo Jr. Sabres when he stopped all 32 shots he faced on route to a big 6-0 win for his Knights.
CONGRATULATIONS DAVID!
DECEMBER 2009
In his first season with the Vees, Dimitri is on quite the impressive tear, at the moment with points in 11 of his last 13 games. In that period, Dimitri has 19 points, with 14 of those points coming in the month of December.
Panagiotou is a very discipline player having only taken two minutes in penalties in December and just six minutes during his 13 game point tear. To further the point of how well Dimitri is playing, he has just two special team points of those 19, to show he is getting most of his production in five on five situations.
CONGRATULATIONS DIMITRI!
NOVEMBER 2009
Scoring 14 goals and nine assists in just 11 games throughout November makes the Milton Icehawk forward James Woodcroft the perfect choice for the OJAHL Bauer Player of the Month.
On a club that hasn't had much to look forward to so far this season, Woodcroft has been a plesent surprize. The 6'2, 185lbs power forward uses his size and speed to burn the opposition. Finding the back of the net is Woodcrofts job and he has not let down his boss. The Milton native brings a positive attitude to the rink each night and works hard every shift.
CONGRATULATIONS JAMES!
OCTOBER 2009
A speedy forward who can find the back of the net on a consistant basis is usually a player worth his weight. Matt Smyth is that player. Smyth's 14 goals and 19 assists in just 13 games makes him the only choice for the OJAHL Bauer Player of the Month.
The 5'11 188 pound forward has enjoyed personal success this season, leading the league in points, as well as helping his Couchiching Terriers to a current fourth place standing. The Orlando Florida native's biggest game in October came on the 23rd against the Buffalo Jr. Sabres, when he posted a goal and four assists on route to a 6-0 victory for his Terriers.
CONGRATULATIONS MATT!
SEPTEMBER 2009
When a teams captain leads on the ice, on the point sheet and in the dressing room that teams success level is often better then their opposition.
This seems to be the case with Kingston Voyaguers team captain and leading scorer Kevin Christmas who is the September OJAHL Player of the Month.
In seven games Christmas was able to notch five goals and seven assists while leading his team through a un-defeated month. This 6'3 220 pound defensemen from Hamilton is the real deal, making forwards think twice about heading into the corners against him. Highlight game for Christmas came in his first game on Sept. 10, against the Trenton Golden Hawks when he notched three goals and
two assists on route to a 6-1 victory.
